Directions to Washington
GETTING TO WASHINGTON STATE:
The state is located in the extreme Northwest corner of the continguous United States. It is bordered by Oregon to the South, Idaho to the East and the Canadian Province of British Columbia to the North. The Western side of the state is bordered by the Pacific Ocean.
DRIVING: All areas of the state can be reached by major Interstates or good state roads. Running North-South through the Western part of the state is Interstate Five which comes from Oregon and continutes up to British Columbia where it becomes Canadian Highway 99. Another North-South Route is Interstate 82 from Hermiston Oregon, up through the tri-cities of Pasco, Richland and Kennewick. It continues North through Yakima eventually becoming highway 97 and crossing Wenatchee, Chelan and the Okanogan Valley before reaching Canada.
Interstate Ninety runs East-West in the almost center of the state coming from Idaho, through Spokane in Eastern Washington and terminating in Seattle to the West. Other East-West highways are Highway 12 in the Southern part of the state and Highway 2 in the northern part.
FLYING: There are major international airports in Seattle Tacoma area (Western Washington) and Spokane in Eastern Washington. Access to the state is also easy from Portland International in Portland Oregon, just across the river from Vancouver Washington (not Vancouver BC) in the Southern part of the state and from Vancouver BC just across the border from Blaine and Bellingham Washington in the Northern region of the state. There are also jet serviced airports in Wenatchee, Yakima and the Tri-Cities.
RAIL: Amtrak provides passenger rail service North-South through Seattle Tacoma and East West through Spokane to Seattle.
Directions to Leavenworth
DIRECTIONS TO LEAVENWORTH:
The Bavarian Village of Leavenworth is located in the middle of the State just over the Cascade Mountains from the major metroplitcan areas of Seattle and Everett. Lodging properties are stretched over a 30 mile area and can be approached from East, West or South. The directions to each area differ slightly and are summarized below.
Directions to Blewett Pass
Blewett Pass, at an elevation of 4,000, is located roughly between the towns of Cle Elum Washington and Leavenworth Washington. Highway 97, running over Blewett Pass, is a major mountain pass running North South. The peak of Blewett Pass is about 26 miles North East of Cle Elum and about 26 miles South of Leavenworth. Drivers shold be prepared for heavy snow in winter.

FROM HIGHWAY 97 NORTH
- From the intersection of Highway2 and highway 97 near the town of Peshastin
- GSP Coordindates: 41.55869, -120.593247
- Go South on Highway 97
- Travel about 25.6 miles
- Warning - Do not take the "Old Blewett Road" which is only 12.4 miles.
- As you approach Mile Marker 159 slow down
- Watch for signs for "Old Blewett Road" in about 1/2 mile
- Turn right onto Old Blewett Road
- If it is Winter, park here and wait for the Snow Cat to arrive (See below)
- If it is Summer turn right onto Old Blewett Road
- This may also be labeled as Nation Forest Road 9715
- Intersection GPS Coordinates: 47.325327, -120.673184
- The road will curve and go steadily upward
- Follow the main road, do NOT take any side roads.
- Travel 4.7 miles and watch for a driveway to the right
- House GPS Coordinates: 47.347458, -120.671469
- The chain gate has a lock on it.
- See Access Instructions for lock combination
- Open the gate and proceed straight
- In about 100 feet you will see large garage like structure
- Turn right and drive up the hill.
- The house will be in about 150 feet.
FROM HIGHWAY 97 SOUTH
- From the intersection of Higway 970 and Higway 97
- Go north up toward Blewett Pass
- As you approach the turn off for Swauk Campground slow down
- Watch for signs to "Old Blewett Road" in about 1/2 mile
- If it is Winter, park here and wait for the Snow Cat to arrive (see below)
- If it is Summer turn right onto Old Blewett Road
- This may also be labeled as Nation Forest Road 9715

IN WINTER:
Due to snowfall, it is not possible to drive the last five miles by car or truck. Guests may use their own or rented snowmobiles Or we can arrange to have a Snowcat vehicles meet them at the public highway and transport them to the propery. If you pre-arranged for the Snow Cat, follow these directions.
- The Snow Cat picks up guests on Highway 97.

- Arrange your pickup time in writing with the Central Reservations Office
EXTRAS:
- There is a $75 per hour fee if you are late for pickup.
- There is a $75 charge for each additonal Snowcat Round-Trip.
- There is no disabled access.
